Chi Krneta was incredible happy when her husband proposed to her. It was a dream come true, but now came the hard part. She needed to plan her dream wedding, and nothing could go wrong on this very important day.
One of the most important aspects of a wedding, for a bride, is the wedding dress. Not only must it be gorgeous and stunning, but many brides want to be unique and “different.” The wedding dress must stand out and be spectacular.
To ensure this, Chi did something remarkable. She spent five months creating her own wedding dress. As Chi rode the bus 50 minutes to work each day, she crocheted her own wedding dress. It was a way for her to honor her paternal grandmother who had taught her the technique. More importantly, she could create a dress unlike any other while saving a ton of money!
In total, Chi spent $30 and five months creating her perfect wedding dressing. And it’s truly one-of-a-kind!
“I crocheted my lace wedding dress on the bus during my work commute for about 5 months. The dress is a pattern I designed with a commonly used pineapple stitch.
“The dress was practically free because I didn’t spend much money on it (under $30 for all of the materials including fabric for the lining) and I didn’t spend much extra time on it.”
“My commute time couldn’t be used for anything else anyway. The dress is also machine washable (I’ve washed it several times), doesn’t wrinkle or need any special care, and I plan on wearing it again with linings of different colors and with the train bustled up in different ways.”
I can’t believe she created this gorgeous wedding dress using just $30. That’s insane!
